Improve Your Skills!

Glacier River School provides training in-river and rope rescue skills as well as boat handling training in all crafts. We are based at the west entrance to Glacier National Park in Montana. We are part of the Great Northern Whitewater Raft and Resort, which has 33 years of experience in whitewater and fishing trips on the Flathead River in Montana. Our guides are the best in the industry, they excel in professionalism, expertise and unparalleled experience. Now you can learn from the best by attending Glacier River School at Great Northern Resort on the boundary waters of Glacier National Park. Our instructors are certified by Rescue 3 International and the American Canoe Association and each instructor is specialized. Some focus on technical river rescue. Others specialize in kayaking and developing a boater from learning to roll to playboating techniques. Still others are devoted to helping rafters with boat handling skills on both oar-framed and paddle rafts.

CUSTOM KAYAK CLASSES

At Glacier River School, we have found that developing boaters need individual attention for best results. Our instructors will work with you or your group to target the skills that you are looking to develop.

Whether you are just starting out and need to practice rolling on flat water or find a play wave to perfect your playboating skills, our instructors want to make sure you have the best location and opportunity to accomplish your goals. With that in mind, we want to make sure that your party gets the attention that you deserve. We do that by providing our classes in smaller groups. Many students begin with a single day of instruction and choose to add on more days to continue their skill progression. Overnight self contained and raft support trips available if you are interested in practicing your multi-day trip skills.
