Glacier National Park Paddle Boarding is guaranteed to make your trip with Great Northern memorable
Are you coming to Montana’s Glacier National Park and looking for some fun this summer? The sport, commonly known as SUP’ing, is an ancient form of surfing that originated in the Hawaiian Islands. Stand-Up Paddle Boarding is a type of surfing where the surfers use a paddle to move through the water while standing on a surfboard, usually ranging from 9-12 feet in length. We are in West Glacier Montana and have Stand-Up Paddle Board rentals as well as SUP instruction courses and SUP river trips.
It’s recommended that you learn basic techniques and skills before you head to moving water. If you want to try something fun and challenging this summer on your Montana vacation, don’t miss out on our stand-up paddle board training.
Stand-up paddle boarding is a great way to see Montana’s lakes and river from a different perspective and we can teach you how. SUP’ing is challenging, lots of fun, and is a great “core” & balance workout.
Our paddleboard courses provide instruction from flat to moving water. Whether it is your first time on a board and you just want to learn the proper strokes or you are ready to make the jump to the river and learn how to read water, our ACA instructor has the progression to help you get there. Glacier River School provides you with instruction and plenty of encouragement.
Pricing is based on number of people and amount of time requested. Fees based on actual time spent working on technique, both on water and dry land and the shuttle to the river. Depending on where you choose to work, your vehicle may need to be available for a shuttle. Glacier River School provides an appropriate amount of instructors as the number of students increases. MT state law requires a PFD accompany paddleboards on the water and it’s also a good idea. Make sure to have yours if you are paddling! Rent for a half-day (4 hours) or full day (8 hours) and we’ll give you directions to the best places to take them.
